Private Lessons

We train in the environment that matters most—your home, neighborhood, or our Sarasota training facility—so your dog learns where it counts.

Our Private Lessons Process
Getting Started In Your Home
We begin every training journey with a free consultation at our facility. This gives us a chance to meet you & your dog, discuss your goals, and recommend the best path forward. Once you decide to train with us, we schedule your first private lesson at your home. During this session, we focus on foundational behaviors like leash walking, “sit,” and “off” (no jumping or chewing).
After the first lesson, we check in to see how things are going and schedule your second in-home session. In this visit, we introduce more structure with commands like “place” and “down,” building calm behavior and impulse control.
Training at Hagan's Pet Resort
Your third lesson takes place at our facility inside Hagan’s Pet Resort. Here, we teach the “heel” command and help your dog walk consistently on your chosen side (left or right). We also begin distraction work by introducing one of our professionally trained K9 Coach dogs.
If your dog responds well, we move on to lesson four and prepare you for group classes. Our group classes—part of our unlimited, no-limitations program—are held every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 6:30 PM (class begins at 7:00 PM) at Hagan’s Pet Resort. You’re welcome to attend as many as you like, for as long as you need. If your dog isn’t quite ready, we’ll revisit the lesson and reinforce the training, additional fees may apply.
Real World Setting with Group Classes
The fifth and final private lesson takes place in a real-world setting—either Bayfront Park or Payne Park—where we evaluate your dog’s behavior around high-level distractions. Dogs who succeed here unlock access to our exclusive Saturday morning group classes, designed for graduates who have completed the full program.

Intensive Dog Training, Proven Results
Our Board & Train program is perfect for dog owners who want fast, effective training without the daily time commitment. Your dog will stay at our trusted Sarasota training facility and follow a structured routine designed to reinforce obedience, address problem behaviors, and build focus through repetition.
This immersive experience covers key obedience commands (sit, stay, come, heel), house manners, leash training, and socialization. It’s especially effective for puppies, rescue dogs, and those with more complex behavior issues like aggression or anxiety.
With regular updates and a detailed go-home lesson, you’ll stay connected to your dog’s progress and feel confident continuing their training at home.

Group Classes
Ongoing Obedience Training with Real-World Distractions For Dogs Who Complete Our Private Lessons or Board & Train Program
Our Unlimited Group Obedience Classes are the perfect way to reinforce training and improve your dog’s behavior in a social, distraction-filled setting. Led by professional trainers, each class is designed to build on core obedience skills—like sit, stay, come, and leash manners—while improving focus and responsiveness around other dogs and people.
Group training supports healthy socialization and builds confidence, especially for excitable or shy dogs. It also gives owners the opportunity to practice consistency and learn how to manage common behavior issues in real-world situations.
Group classes are exclusively for dogs who have completed all private training lessons and passed their final assessment—becoming official graduates of our private training program. This ensures that all dogs in the class are ready to succeed in a group setting.
Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 6:30 PM (class starts promptly at 7:00 PM). As part of our No Limitations Program, you’re welcome to attend as often as you’d like—for as long as you need.
